Why we say no to polyester, and always will?

Some choices in clothing are easy to overlook, like what’s in the fabric.
But for us at Thara’, it was one of the first and most important decisions we made.
We chose not to use polyester. Not even blended in.
Because we believe what you wear every day should feel clean, natural, and honest. Polyester doesn’t.
It may look soft. It may stretch. It may hold color.
But it doesn’t breathe. It traps heat. It holds onto odors. And with time, it starts to feel like something your skin wants to escape from.
More than that, polyester is plastic. Woven into fabric.
It’s made from petroleum, sheds microplastics when washed, and stays in the environment long after your clothes do.
We’re not trying to be dramatic. We just don’t want that on your skin or in your wardrobe.
So we made a different choice.
We chose cotton. And when we need a bit of stretch, we add a small amount of Lycra openly, and only where it makes sense.
Because comfort shouldn’t come with consequences, and basics shouldn’t hide what they’re made of.
At Thara’, we’ll never blend things just to make the label sound better.
We’ll always choose clarity over compromise.
And your skin will thank you for it.
